2008 Gold Eagles

The 2008 Gold Eagle was released amidst surging demand for physical precious metals. This would have a lasting impact on the United States Mint's most popular gold bullion coin and the related collector offerings.

The US Mint offered 2008 Proof Gold Eagles and 2008-W Uncirculated Gold Eagles. These collector offerings both experienced extremely low mintages virtually across the board. In the following year these collectible coins would not be issued as heavy demand for bullion coins continued.
